Hello Friends and Church Family Members,

You may be aware that we will continue with the state’s shelter at home through the end of May here in Illinois. Though this will mean that we will not be able to come together at the church building, we have many opportunities to be in each other’s lives. Please take a moment to see the ways you have to connect:

We are offering worship in the following ways:

1. Church Website: www.SpringfieldSouthernBaptist.org

2. FaceBook: https://www.facebook.com/TheChurchOnNorthGrand/

3. YouTube: Springfield Southern Baptist Church

Do you Zoom? We are offering the opportunity to connect with you Bible Study class using the internet tool Zoom.us. Even if you do not have a computer, smart phone, or tablet, you can call in to the meeting and participate with your class. Please call one of the connections below to learn how you can connect with a Bible Study group.

What is Zoom? It is an on-line tool that allows us to see and hear (if you have a smart device) or just hear (calling in only) to meet together. Imagine it is like coming to church, but you get to leave you pajamas on. Your Bible Study leader shows us before you and unlocks the door and turns the lights on. They do this practically by giving you the long in information that allows you to come into the meeting. Then you meet together. It is that easy.

Stay-At-Home challenge, I would like to challenge you to use the Inductive Bible Study Questions as we study through 1 Peter over the next few months. The challenge is simple, read through the book of 1 Peter each week, two times. The challenge is this to read a chapter a day each week, and ask the questions as you go. You will need to keep a notebook with you to capture the thoughts and insights that you receive from the Holy Spirit as you read. If you have a spouse or roommate, the two of you can use the questions once a week to discuss what you are reading. Though it may seem like a lot, each week reading the whole book, but I am convinced that we all will grow beyond what we can imagine when we complete this study together.

Thank you for continue to worship so well through tithing. We know that making this a priority during this season of life is a sacrificial act of worship that you are continuing to do. Please continue to pray about your continual giving of your tithes and offerings during this time. Your tithe continue help with the ongoing obligations that make the ministry run. Do be sure to note on your check how you want the funds designated.
