Hello SSBC Family,

The international response to the COVID-19 threat is affecting all of us, including the church. Due to this past weekend’s rulings by Governor Pritzker, the Sangamon County Department of Public Health, local school boards and the appeal of our President Trump and national leadership, this unprecedented situation calls for a careful response by Springfield Southern Baptist Church. This could very well affect our gathering for anywhere from two to eight weeks.

This will be a very challenging time for all of us as we face Covid-19 but we will get through it together. Here are key points to remember for the coming days in the life of Springfield Southern Baptist Church:

1. No activities between today, March 18 and April 1. We will reassess and communicate updates for after April 1st.

2. Please continue to tithe: Please pray about your continual giving of your tithes and offerings during this time. We will continue to have obligations that make the ministry run. Do be sure to note on your check how you want the funds designated. Please send your check to our mailing address:
Springfield Southern Baptist Church
225 North Grand Avenue East
Springfield, IL 62702.

3. Questions? If you have any questions about giving or our plans, please call:
a. Church office 217-544-0863 and leave a message.
b. JoAnn Emerson, cell phone 217-638-1901 as she is our ministry assistant for finances.

4. Need Help? If you do not want to get out of your home because you are at a higher risk of catching Covid-19 and need assistance for groceries or medication pick up please let JoAnn Emerson or Dale Emerson (217-638-1896) know as we have church volunteers who will assist you.

Watch SSBC services on-line. Beginning March 22, we will have our future Sunday services on our web page as well as Facebook.

We do not know the total extent to which this COVID-19 threat could continue to disrupt our daily lives. We will do our best to update you as time comes along. Please continue to pray for our church, our nation’s leaders, first responders and our medical community,
